History has always intrigued me but never to the point that it was personal.

Twenty years ago I decided to start looking into our family tree to either prove or disprove the family lore of how the Brophy’s ended up in South Africa.

I have continued to do this with both online sources and physical sources but have yet to find out where, when and how.

I then began to delve into the other family trees and have found those to be a lot easier to locate records. So the history that always fascinated me has become personal and real after meeting these ancestors to understand the world’s they lived in.

This website will serve as easy source for family members in an at a glance version for simplicity sake and is by no means complete, so changes will be be made and new people added from time to time.
